Brookhaven Academy ended the regular season with two big wins over Tri County Academy Friday night at John R. Gray Gymnasium.

In the girls’ game, the Lady Cougars defeated the Lady Rebels 45-34.

In boys’ action, the Cougars were victorious over Tri County 50-41.

Brookhaven Academy begins district tournament action Tuesday night in Natchez at Adams County Christian School. The Lady Cougars battle Simpson Academy at 4 p.m. The Cougars take on ACCS in the nightcap.

Lady Cougars 45, Lady Rebels 34

Tri County Academy carried a slim 24-22 lead into halftime, but the Lady Cougars (17-12) roared back, outscoring the Lady Rebels 23-10 in the final two quarters to secure the win.

Kailyn Jordan powered the Lady Cougars with 20 points and five rebounds. Sissy Byrd chipped in 10 points and had four rebounds. Sophie Wilson was the leader on the boards with eight rebounds and scored four points. Leah Case, Anna-Michael Smith and Cameron Watson provided three points each. Edie Riley finished with two points.

Mackenzie Jones was the top scorer for the Lady Rebels with 11 points. Leta McCullough contributed eight points. Mary Hayden Williams had six points.

Brookhaven Acad. 50, Tri County 41 

BA began the first quarter flat, trailing the Rebels 8-5, before finding their rhythm in the second with a 16-8 run.

BA outscored the Rebels 29-25 in the final two periods to collect the win.

Dawson Flowers directed the Cougars with 13 points and four rebounds. Luke Jackson netted 11 points and had five rebounds. Ross Felder was the leader on the boards with nine rebounds and scored nine points. Austin Smith provided seven points. Dylan Winborne had six points and four rebounds. Colton Watson finished with four points.

Jake Jones paced the Rebels with 14 points. J.J. White chipped in 12 points. Zachary Willis had 10 points.
