A cashier at Subway on Brookway Boulevard Thursday morning reported that a man allegedly slipped her a note instructing her to give him the money in the register.

“We received a call at 9:38 a.m.” Brookhaven Police Chief Bobby Bell said. “A guy walked into the C-Store on 51 North. He presented the cashier with a note stating ‘Give me the money.’ She refused to give him the money. He pretended as though he was getting ready to pull something out of his pocket of his coat. She advised him that if he didn’t go on, she was going to call the police.”

The cashier gave a description of the person, and officers arrested Billy Posey at a nearby hotel, according to Bell.

Posey, 61, was booked on a robbery charge.
