Graveside services for Catherine Elizabeth “Bess” Britt were Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery.  Bro. Ronnie Lofton officiated the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. 

Visitation was Monday, Feb. 8, 2016, from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Britt, 90, died Feb. 6, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was born May 9, 1925, in Bogue Chitto to Will E. and Flossie Rollins McFadden.

She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bogue Chitto. She was a graduate of Bogue Chitto High School. She spent most of her adult life in Brookhaven, where she raised her family and will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-­grandmother.

She was a homemaker whose hobbies included camping, fishing and gardening. Her family and friends recognized her talent as an accomplished seamstress and cook.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Will E. and Flossie Rollins McFadden; husband, Monvell Lee “Eute” Britt; brother, John Elton McFadden; and sisters, Doris McFadden Scott and Pearl McFadden.

Survivors are her daughters, Brenda B. Sasser and husband, Donnie, of Brookhaven and Rosemary L. Britt of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Allison Sasser Smith and husband, Wade, and Skip Sasser; great-grandchildren, Brendan Melton, Parker and MacKenzie Smith; special sister-­in-­law, Avis Britt Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
