The Enterprise Lady Jackets defeated the Prentiss Lady Bulldogs Tuesday night in a 54-51 thriller in Region 7-2A action at Enterprise Gymnasium.

In boy’s action, the Jackets fell to the Prentiss Bulldogs 75-55.

Enterprise will be on the road Friday as the Lady Jackets and Jackets head to Mize for two games. The varsity girls will tip off at 6, followed by the boy’s game at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Jackets 54, Lady Bulldogs 51 

The Lady Jackets and the Lady Bulldogs battled in a back-and-forth contest in the first half as Enterprise carried a slim 17-16 lead into halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs came out hot and outscored the Lady Jackets 15-10 in the third period to lead 31-27. In the final period, Enterprise’s offense answered the Lady Bulldogs’ challenge with a 27-20 run to squeeze out a narrow victory.

“This was a very physical game,” said Enterprise coach Jill Nations. “Several of our players did a great job stepping up for us tonight. Overall, I was very pleased with their effort and it was great to get our last regular season district win.”

Enterprise had two players score in double digits as Carlee Nations powered the Lady Jackets with 23 points, seven steals and five rebounds. Courtney Greer contributed 12 points, five steals and three rebounds. Hayley Nations chipped in seven points. Michelle scored four points and was the leader on the boards with six rebounds. Eden Ward provided three points. Brook Foster and Breyuana Johnson each had two points. Karlee Burgess ended the night with one point and had five rebounds.

Jada Brinson paced the Lady Bulldogs with 25 points. Mykayla Young netted eight points. Cyiana Wynn contributed six points. Jakeria Madison scored four points. Natavia Oatis and Tkeviah Hall had three points each. Jermia Easterlng and Tkeya Black finished with one point each.

Prentiss 75, Enterprise 55 

Prentiss came out of the gates on fire and secured a 28-21 lead over Enterprise at halftime.

Prentiss outscored the Jackets with a 47-34 run in the final two quarters to secure the win.

Enterprise had two players score in double figures as Dwayn Pendleton led the Jackets with 25 points. Jontavious Smith netted 16 points. Zach Hodges chipped in six points. Hunter Bland had five points. Darren Richardson finished with three points.

Prentiss was led by three players – Kendarius Sumrall pumped in 16 points, Ronald Baker netted 14 points and Kevin Hall chipped in 10 points. Kendrick Graves and TaShodrick Collins scored four points each. Dre’shune Barns had three points. Johnny Pittman, Tykevious Daniels, and John Smith finished the night with two points each.
