Charles was born in Lincoln County on March 14, 1924, to Charles and Euphemia Foote. He graduated from Bogue Chitto High School and settled in Odessa, Texas, in 1948. He married Velma Allene Foote on Jan. 25, 1957. They had two children, Lori “Missy” Foote Peterson and Tory Layne Foote. Charles was an excellent businessman, owning several business over the years — notably, Foote Well Service, co-owner of Burk Well Service, Foote Equipment Company and BBF Rentals. He was an avid sports fan. He played baseball and basketball in high school. He loved the game of golf and played a lot. When his health began to fail, he watched every sport on three TV’s placed in the den. He was a loving father, husband, brother and PapPaw. He taught us that love is given, respect is earned and just do the right thing by people and everything will workout.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Allene Foote; son, Tory Layne Foote; parents; and brothers, Wilton, Leslie and L.D. Foote.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori “Missy” Foote Peterson; grandchildren, Mandy Peterson, Robert Peterson and Morgan Foote Strimer; daughters-in-law, Rachel Foote and Lori Stroud; sisters, Juanita McCoy and Geraldine Scott; many nieces and nephews; and Melody Fergeson and her family. Their love and compassion for my father will never be forgotten.

A special thanks to Star Home Health and Hospice and Dr. Mudhava Agusala for his tenderness and compassion over the years.

John 14:6‚“I am the way, the truth, and the light. No man cometh unto the Father but through me.”
