Mrs. Peavey was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of New Orleans. She was active in the women’s missionary union, the choir, the country club home and garden club and even found time to teach Sunday school. She was a proud member of Delta Gamma at Ole Miss. For many years Betty Jean was a speech and hearing therapist for Lake Charles city school system and The Margery Walter’s School for the Brain Injured, where she touched the lives of many children. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.

She was a beloved wife of over 59 years to Willie E. Peavey; loving mother of Philip (Donna) and William (Amy) Peavey; proud grandmother of Olivia, Ethan and Joshua Peavey; and daughter of the late Philip and Alma Maxwell Panzica.

In lieu of flowers donations to either the Peavey or Panzica scholarship fund may be offered to the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.
