Funeral services for Richard Joseph Thibodeaux of Brookhaven are Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, at 2:30 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. 

Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, from 12:30 until 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Thibodeaux, 79, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016, at St. Dominics Hospital in Jackson. He was born Aug. 27, 1936, to Alex Thibodeaux and Ouida Ducharme Thibodeaux Mut.

He was retired from the United States Navy where he served in the Korean and Vietnam War. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church. He was also a member of John

A. Galbreath, Lodge No. 334, The Builders Chapter No. 354, Pleasant Hill and Amateur Radio Group.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sons, Ricky Thibodeaux and Jeffrey “Tadpole” Thibodeaux.

Survivors are his wife of 59 years, Louise Kimble Thibodeaux; daughter, Debra Thibodeaux Jones and husband, J.J.; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Thibodeaux, all of Brookhaven; sister, Patricia Thibodeaux Free of Zachary, Louisiana; five grandchildren, Candace Thibodeaux, Mercedes Thibodeaux, Jeffrey Jones, Victoria Jones, Sarah Jones Walker and husband, Dusty, all of Brookhaven; he is also survived by other family, Cade Pope, Lacey Case and Melinda Friend.
