The Brookhaven Board of Aldermen recessed Tuesday evening’s meeting until 9 a.m. Friday for further discussion on bank services for the city.

The city received bids for 2016 and 2017 depositories, primary to Trustmark National Bank with interest at 0.13 percent. The other bid was from State Bank and Trust with an interest rate of 0.12 percent.

The item was listed on the agenda to approve the city to continue to use State Bank for a bond account. Ward 6 Alderman David Phillips suggested that the city take time to consider the move, and Mayor Joe Cox pulled the item to be discussed when the meeting is reconvened Friday at 9 a.m.
