PINEVILLE, LA. – The Bears moved to 4-0 on the young season Wednesday night with an 8-2, 11-0 doubleheader sweep of the Louisiana College Wildcats JV in Pineville, LA.

The Bears took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third in game one when LD Coney singled past second base with two outs and scored on Brady Anderson’s base hit to right field. The Wildcats tied it at 1-1 with a lead off walk and two-out double in the bottom of the frame.

A five-run fourth inning gave the Bears a 6-1 lead. Walt Aldridge led off the inning with a single (he also had a double in the game) and Ross Buckley followed with a walk. The two later scored on a Steven Williams single (his second of the game) and Tanner Whittington’s base hit. A hit batter and walk, both with the bases loaded, then allowed Williams and Whittington to score. The final run came when Zach Giacona, on base with his second single of the game, scored on Anderson’s fly out.
