Franklin County head football coach Anthony Hart recently announced that Franklin County High School has designated March 10 as Jamie Collins Day.

Collins, a linebacker for the New England Patriots and former University of Southern Mississippi standout, will be present and recognized during the halftime of the annual Blue and White Spring Football Scrimmage.

During the ceremony, Collins’ jersey No. 1 will be retired. He helped direct the Bulldogs to the Class 3A State Championship in 2006. They were runners-up in 2007.

The scrimmage will begin at 5 p.m., and there will be a $5 fundraiser entrance fee.
