Funeral services for Jasper Leonard “J. L.” Walker, 84, are  Monday, March 14, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home at 3 p.m. with burial in Springhill Pentecostal Church Cemetery in Wesson. Bro. Grover Warren will be officiating the services.

Visitation is Monday, March 14, 2016 from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Walker died on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at Merit Health Systems in Biloxi. He was born on April 1, 1931 in Copiah County to Hulon B. and Amanda Manasco Walker. He was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed fishing, raising fruit trees and gardening. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Byrd Walker; three brothers; and one sister.

Survivors are his sons, Kenneth Leonard Walker and wife, Sandra, of Natchez and Ronald Walker of Brookhaven; daughters, Freida I. Rodrigue and husband, David, and Theresa Lynn Sample, both of Schriever, Louisiana; sister, Myrtle Evans; brother, Jimmy Walker; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
