Funeral services for Dawn Berch Long, of Brookhaven, are Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Hazlehurst with burial in the Hazlehurst Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation was Monday, March 14, 2016, from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Long died Saturday March 12, 2016, of colon cancer. She was born Dawn Arlean Farmer on June 17, 1957, in Copiah County to Roy and Earline Farmer.

She was a full-time mother to three children, Jeremy (Susan), Jason (Michelle) and Josh, all of whom she loved and was extremely proud.

Dawn was gifted with a loving and fun loving personality. One of her children said she was the only mother he knew who had fun at a PTA meeting.

She was loved and supported by her husband, Dr. John Long; her children; sister Deborah Coley (Roy); sister-in-law, Judy Farmer Clary; grandchildren Taylor, Shelbi, Tyler and Nikki; several nieces, and nephews and many friends. Dawn was a woman of strong Christian faith.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her sister, Patty; and her brother, Truman.
