Funeral services for Bobbie Lofton Porter are Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Ramah Baptist Church Cemetery in Franklin County. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation is Friday, March 18, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood, and Saturday, March 19, 2016, from 1 p.m. until time of services.

Mrs. Porter, 85, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at Brook Manor Nursing Home in Brookhaven. She was born Aug. 24, 1930, in Franklin County to George W. Lofton and Allie Elizabeth Lewis Lofton.

Mrs. Porter was a member of Easthaven Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. She loved cooking, sewing, reading her Bible, and spending time with her family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband, J.T. Porter; her parents; two sisters, Hilda Rae Smith and Faye Bullock; and two brothers, Ernest Russell Lofton and Johnny Douglas Lofton.

Survivors are her daughter, Jan Porter Smith and husband, Reggie Smith, of Brookhaven; one brother, James Olen Lofton of Brookhaven; two grandsons, Justin “J.T.” Smith and wife, Cara, of Pearl and Clint Smith and wife, Ashley, of Petal; one great-grandson, Jake Gunner Smith; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
