Funeral services for Charles Wayne McKee are Friday, March 18, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home with burial in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation is Friday, March 18, 2016, from 12 until 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mr. McKee, 76, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Oct. 29, 1939, in Lincoln County to Edgar Vernon and Ela Burney McKee.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy and his community in the Brookhaven Civitan Club. He worked for many years as a self-employed plumber. He was an active member of Central Baptist Church for over 30 years serving in various capacities including his service as a deacon. He enjoyed fishing and growing vegetables in his garden to share with his neighbors. He was a loving son, husband, father and grandfather.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Edgar Vernon and Ela Burney McKee; wife, Linda Smith McKee; sisters, Edna McKee Davis, Eula Etta McKee Horton, Mary McKee Ratcliff and Marjarie Sue McKee Walley; and brothers, Bill McKee, Curtis McKee and Johnny Ray McKee.

Survivors are his wife, Anita Lavon Thornhill White McKee; daughters, Veronica McKee Richardson and husband, Jeff, of Brookhaven and Lisa McKee Hodgson and husband, Geoffrey, of Brookhaven; sisters, Ruth McKee Crosby and Linda McKee Lee; brother, Alfred McKee; grandchildren, Ashton Richardson, Anna Brooke Richardson, Olivia Hodgson, Lilly Hodgson, Emma Hodgson, William Hodgson and John Hodgson; and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Charles’s name may be made to: Central Baptist Church Building Fund.
