Funeral services for Willie “Bilbo” Humphries are Monday, March 21, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Macedonia M. B. Church in Brookhaven with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. L.C. Williams will officiate. R. E. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Sunday, March 20, 2016, from 1 until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Humphries, 96, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at Brook Manor Nursing Home in Brookhaven. He was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Lincoln County to George and Fannie Dixon Humphries.

He was employed for a number of years at Southern Wholesale. He was a bus driver for the school system and also as a greeter at Walmart.

He was married to Allie Mae Jackson Humphries and was a member of the Macedonia M. B. Church, where he served in a number of capacities such as deacon and president of the Sunday School Institute.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, J. R. Dixon, Julius Dixon, Elton Byrd, Ned Byrd, Billy Humphries, Ellix Humphries and John Humphries; and sisters, Rosie Byrd, Lucille Humphries, Alice Humphries and Betty Humphries.

Survivors are his wife, Allie Mae Jackson Humphries of Brookhaven; sons, Kirby Humphries (Carolyn) and John Humphries (Josie) of Brookhaven; daughters, Willie Mae Reed (James) of Gulfport and Floradine Hamilton (David) of Brookhaven; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
