SUMMIT – Southwest centerfielder Austin Pruitt, a sophomore from Pearl River Central High School, has been named the MACJC’s Player of the Week for March 14-20. She is the first member of the Lady Bears’ program to ever receive the honor.

During the week, Pruitt went 12-15 (.800) as the Lady Bears swept a home doubleheader against Pearl River and also swept a doubleheader at Meridian. She scored three runs while driving in one.

Pruitt will now automatically be nominated for the NJCAA’s Player of the Week.
