MONTICELLO – The Lawrence County Lady Cougars roared past the Florence Lady Eagles to capture a 10-0 division win in softball action Tuesday night.

The Lady Cougars (5-4), coached by Meleah Howard, will return to action Thursday as they host the Tylertown Lady Chiefs. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

The Lady Cougars quickly dominated the Lady Eagles in a five-inning contest. Lawrence County scored six runs in the second inning and added four more runs in the third to claim a 10-0 lead.

Jordan Harp was the winning pitcher for the Lady Cougars. She allowed only one hit in a eight-strikeout, no-walk performance.

Josie Nations sparked the Lady Cougars’ offense with a double and a single. Tyranesha Davis fueled the flames with a triple. Sydney Pevey, Zyon Feazell and Julianna Johnson provided a single apiece.
