The Brookhaven Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that happened on Myra Street Thursday evening.

BPD received a call at 8:17 p.m. Thursday of a burglary on Myra Street. BPD Police Chief Bobby Bell said a TV and some video games were stolen from the home.

The resident of the home said she had recently broken off a relationship with her boyfriend, who had a key to the home, Bell said. There were no signs of forced entry into the home, leading him to believe the ex-boyfriend was the burglar, he said.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is also investigating a burglary on Honey Dew Trail.

LCSO reports show that the department received a call at 12:53 a.m. Wednesday on Honey Dew Trail. Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said a TV was stolen from the home.

Rushing said there were no signs of forced entry into the home. The woman believes her son took the TV because there were problems between the two, he said.
