Kynett United Methodist Church is providing a new and exciting way for families to celebrate Easter this weekend by hosting #TEAMBROKE, a local group of hip hop artists.

#TEAMBROKE will be at Kynett United Methodist Church during its annual Easter egg hunt, which the group is co-sponsoring, on Saturday at 1 p.m. The church is located at 318 N. Second St. and invites community members of all ages to come and meet the group of performers.

Members of KUMC Marjorie Walker said #TEAMBROKE has performed in numerous venues and has a global following. The group appeared as a special guest on the red carpet at the first annual Mississippi Hip Hop Awards in Greenville this year, she said.

Group members of #TEAMBROKE are DJ Flowerbed King (Andre Lenoir Jr.), #CB (Ivan Watts), #SINCERE (Dontay Thompson), #J Jr. (James Earl Little, Jr.), #UNK (Robert Wade), #Young Maine and #RIP (Julian Gayten).

Currently, DJ Flowerbed King’s “Bop and Twist” has quickly become a popular dance, Walker said. The artist has been featured on a recording with artists such as Rich Homie Quan, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa and The Game.

“#TEAMBROKE sees part of their mission as being a blessing to the church and community by giving back, which the group members absolutely love to do,” Walker said.
