Wolfpack netters pick up big win over Hinds

RAYMOND – The Co-Lin Wolfpack netters overcame windy conditions pick up an 8-1 win over the Hinds Eagles to remain undefeated on the season Tuesday.

The day started with doubles action. Co-Lin’s Mateusz Kimelski and Cory Alderman paired up for the No. 1 slot and grabbed an 8-6 win over Daniel Yepez and Matthew Burks. Will Pennington and Hayes Thompson played in the No. 2 position and grabbed an 8-6 victory as well, over Daniel Luck and Landon Young. Braxton Hinton and Drake Nelson rounded out the double teams for the Wolves and won 8-3 over Ryan Wheelers and Victor Villarreal.

In singles action, Co-Lin’s Kimelski fell at the No. 1 position to Yepez. The hard fought match ended with a 6-3, 6-2 score. Co-Lin’s Skylar Moody grabbed a dominating win at the No. 2 slot over Daniel Luck, 6-0, 6-1. At No. 3, Hinton defeated Matthew Burks 6-4, 6-4. Hayes Thompson won easily over Landon Young 6-1, 6-0 in the No. 4 slot. Drake Nelson defeated Ryan Wheeler at No. 5 by a score of 6-2, 6-2, and Cory Alderman finished off Victor Villarreal 6-1, 6-2 to wrap up singles play at No. 6.
