A two-car accident on Wallace Drive in Brookhaven Tuesday afternoon left one person dead and five injured.

Christine Savoie Freeman, 46, of Brookhaven, was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS at 2:43 p.m., according to Lincoln County Coroner Clay McMorris. Freeman was the driver of a Nissan Rogue, with three passengers — two children in the backseat and an adult in the front, Lincoln County Deputy Johnny Hall said. The passenger was airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center from the scene, and the two children were taken by ambulance to UMMC, Hall said.

The driver and 2-year old passenger of the second vehicle, a Chevrolet Impala, sustained injuries and were both airlifted to UMMC, Hall said.
