Lady Panthers defeat Franklin County

MEADVILLE – The Brookhaven Lady Panthers Softball team traveled to Franklin County on Tuesday night to face the Lady Bulldogs on their own turf.

The Panthers were victorious with a varsity win of 10-1 in seven innings and a 10-9 junior varsity win in four innings.

“Our defense played a really good game tonight,” said BHS coach Mandy Vinson. “Madison Thompson pitched a great game and our girls played aggressive tonight.”

Brookhaven 10, Franklin County 1 

Kat Wallace powered the Lady Panthers with a double and three singles, Katherine Shell contributed a double and Tia Bussey provided three singles. Hitting safely were Haley Speaks, Jadeyn Fuller and Cheyenne Motley.

Madison Thompson was the winning pitcher with one strikeout and four walks.

Emilee Wallace was the losing pitcher. Wallace had five strikeouts and five walks.

The Lady Panthers improved to 10-3, 1-0 on the fastpitch softball campaign.

Next up for Brookhaven is a JV/varsity double header at Loyd Star beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Brookhaven 10, Franklin County 9 

In JV action Brookhaven prevailed 10-9. The winning pitcher was Jadeyn Fuller. Brookhaven was led at the plate by Jada Henderson with a triple, Rileigh Allen provided a double and two singles; Meg Foster ripped a double, Maley Moak and Lydia Butler finished with two singles each. Hitting safely was Madi Miller.
