Funeral services for Betty Tillman Maxwell are Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Brookhaven with burial in Riverwood Memorial Park. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 9 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Mrs. Maxwell, 89, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Country Brook Living Center. She was born May 9, 1926, in Hazlehurst.

She was a Merle Norman cosmetics business owner and a member of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven.

Preceding her in death were her husband, T.C. Maxwell; daughters, Nancy Heineman and Gale White; sons‐in‐law, Cam Thurman and Mike White; parents, Porter Eugene Tillman and Pooler Garrett Britain Tillman; and siblings, Margaret Porter Russell, Zeliss Bell, Pauline Jolly, Alfred Tillman, Wilton Tillman, Charles Tillman and Evelyn Hawthorn.

Survivors are her son, Don Maxwell; son‐in‐law, Ralph Heineman; daughter, Jan Thurman; brother‐in‐law, Lamar Hawthorn; sisters‐in‐law, Jayne Tillman and Dorothy Tillman; nine grandchildren, Samantha Brooks (Lee), Lance Smith (Monica), Lynn Ford (Stephen), Matt White (April), Kristi Bridge (Tyler), John Adam Maxwell, David Maxwell, Sara Thurman and Anna Thurman; and 10 great grandchildren.
