MONTICELLO – The Lawrence County Lady Cougars picked up a quick and easy 10-0 win over the Raymond Lady Rangers Thursday night in Region 7-4A softball action.

The Lady Cougars, coached by Meleah Howard, will continue action today when they invade Walthall County to battle the Salem Lady Wildcats. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 6:15 p.m.

The Lady Cougars claimed an early 2-0 lead, before exploding with an eight-run surge in the fourth. They held on to clinch the victory in a five-inning contest.

Jordan Harp pitched a no-hit shutout for Lawrence County in a dominating performance. Harp finished with 10 strikeouts and did not give up a walk.

Julianna Johnson paced the Lady Cougars at the plate with a double. Alyssa Lambert and Josey Nations provided a single each.
