Corrections and clarifications:
• In Sunday’s courthouse records, defense attorney Lisa Baker was incorrectly listed as the defendant. The defendant, Christopher Coleman, pleaded guilty to resisting arrest on March 30.
• In Wednesday’s “Historical society presents Smith ancestry,” the story should have said, according to Smith’s research, most of the Smiths in Lincoln County cannot be traced back to the Smiths that settled in Jamestown, Virginia, in the early 1600s. This lineage does not allow the Smiths to trace their ancestry back to Capt. John Smith. The photo caption should have said, “Brookhaven and Lincoln County: The Later Teen Years 1916 through 1919” is just one of several books John Paul Smith has compiled on the early records of the Lincoln County.”
