Lady Jaguars roar past Columbia

SUMMIT – The North Pike Lady Jaguars defeated the Columbia Lady Wildcats 13-3 Tuesday night.

The Lady Jaguars (9-5, 3-1), coached by Sonya Wallace, will resume division action Thursday when they visit Purvis. Junior varsity action starts at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6:30 p.m.

Trailing 1-0 in the third, the Lady Jaguars caught fire and outscored Columbia 13-2 in the remaining innings.

Madison Bigner was the winning pitcher for the Lady Jaguars with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Molly Monk suffered the loss for Columbia with no strikeouts and no walks.

Jami Spears was the offensive leader for North Pike with a double and two singles. Bigner provided three singles. Sarah Brock, Janiah Talbert and Janay Maxwell contributed two singles each. Linley Smith ripped a double and Jenna Brock had a single.

Abby Abrams directed the Lady Wildcats with a double and a single. Lydia Cooper had a double. Alyssa Pendergrass and Faith Johnson finished with a single each.
