Lady Wolves shutout Holmes

GOODMAN – The Co-Lin Lady Wolves move to 3-5 on the season after the team picked up a much needed win over the Holmes Lady Bulldogs 9-0 Monday.

In doubles action, Madison Warren and Brandi McInnis played in the No. 1 position against Allie Furdge and Kaylan Cooper. The No. 1 Lady Wolves won the match 8-1. Chantel Quarles and Susanna Ratcliff teamed up at No. 2 and defeated Ashleigh Pope and Brenda Arvizu in a very close match. Quarles and Ratcliff picked up the win in a tiebreaker with the final score, 9-8 (7-4). Bayli Battle and Julie Kramer defeated Brittany Graham and Savanna Bell at No. 3 by a final score of 8-5.

The Lady Wolves ran the table in singles action as well. Warren handled Furdge easily at No. 1. The final score was 6-1, 6-0. McInnis played in the No. 2 position and defeated Cooper 6-3, 6-2. Quarles grabbed a win in the No. 3 slot over Pope, 6-1, 6-1. At No. 4, Ratcliff defeated Arvizu soundly by a final score of 6-2, 6-1. Battle played in the No. 5 position and defeated Graham easily by a score of 6-2, 6-0. Kramer wrapped up the singles action at No. 6. Kramer won a hard fought match over Bell, 5-7, 6-4 (10-6).

The win provides the Lady Wolves a boost of coincidence going into their next match. The Lady Wolves return to action today as the team hosts Mississippi Gulf Coast in Wesson.
