Willie Byrd Sr. and Flossie Byrd celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception Jan. 2 at the Lincoln Civic Center.

Hosting the reception was their daughter, Yulanda B. Williams, and granddaughter, Amanda B. Williams.

The couple was married on Dec. 31, 1965, at the home of Lewis and Artis Robinson.
