Lady Jaguars roar past Columbia

The North Pike Lady Jaguars crushed the Columbia Lady Wildcats 11-1 in Region 7-4A softball action Monday night.

The Lady Jaguars (11-6, 5-2), coach by Sonya Wallace, continue action today when they host the McComb Lady Tigers. Junior varsity action begins at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Jaguars secured a 7-0 lead after four innings. Columbia managed to score its only run in the bottom of the fourth, but it wasn’t enough as North Pike plated four more runs in the top of the fifth to capture the victory.

Madison Bigner was the winning pitcher for North Pike with six strikeouts and one walk.

Molly Monk suffered the loss for Columbia with no strikeouts and one walk.

Madison Bigner powered the Lady Jaguars with two triples, a double and a single. Linley Smith contributed four singles. Janay Maxwell provided a triple. Sarah Brock ripped a double. Baylee Bryant had two singles. Jenna Brock, Whitney Howell, Janiah Talbert and Sarah Brock.

Alyssa Pendergrass and Leah Nolan led the Lady Wildcats with a single each.

Madison Moak paced the Lady Jaguars with two singles. Ariel Johnson, Katelyn Simpson and Mary Kate Bates had a single each.
