Funeral services for Victor Darnell Chatman of Mesquite, Texas, formerly of Brookhaven, are Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 3 p.m. at St. Mark MB Church in Brookhaven with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery. Williams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation is Friday, April 15, 2016, from 1 until 6 p.m. at Williams Mortuary in Brookhaven.

Mr. Chatman, 51, died Friday, April 8, 2016, in Dallas, Texas. He was born Jan. 3, 1965, in Brookhaven to Charlie James Chatman Sr. and Glenda Witherspoon Chatman.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Rev. Henry and Maggie Witherspoon and Joe and Lucille Wilson Chatman; father, Charlie James Chatman Sr.; brother, John Chatman Sr.; and brother-in-law, Hosmer Cameron.

Survivors are his mother, Glenda Witherspoon Chatman; wife, Valerie Chatman; children, Twanequa Chatman and Tyjuan Chatman; step-daughter, Tiawanna Thompson; two grandchildren; brothers, Charlie Chatman, Danny Chatman and William Chatman; sisters, Cynthia Cameron, Shelia Witherspoon and Deborah Payton; sisters-in-law, Lisa Chatman, Rhoda Chatman and Brenda Chatman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
