The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drive-by shooting Saturday on Mt. Zion Road.
LCSO responded to a call at 4 p.m. Saturday of someone driving by a dwelling and shooting into a car and home. Lincoln County Sheriff Steve Rushing said upon arrival, officers found that several bullets had struck a car outside the home and the dwelling.
The residents of the home identified Lakin C. Wallace, 17, of 1397 Hilltop Road, as the person who allegedly fired a gun from the window of a vehicle and drove away, Rushing said. Officers arrested Wallace at a different location on charges of shooting into a dwelling, he said.
Rushing said Wallace and the homeowners knew each other and had an ongoing dispute. The sheriff’s office is interviewing several other individuals who were riding in the vehicle with Wallace, Rushing said.
The incident is still under investigation. Shooting into a dwelling is a felony that carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
