Daily Leader / Tracy Fischer / Wesson’s Mary Beth Munn returns a serve in girls No. 1 doubles action against Morton Wednesday night.

WESSON – The Wesson Cobra netters defeated the Morton Panthers 5-2 in Class 3A team playoff action Wednesday to advance to the South State championship.

The Cobras were victorious in boys’ singles, girls’ singles, mixed doubles, girls’ No. 2 doubles and boys’ No. 2 doubles.

Morton captured its only wins in both No. 1 doubles action of boys and girls.

Boys singles: Erich Fischer (W) def. Michael Wilson (M) 6-0, 6-0.

Girls singles: Kimberly San (W) def. Spencer Sumerall (M) 6-0, 6-0.

Mixed doubles: Maya Granger/Logan Channell (W) def. Aryanna Stephens/Schuyler Moore (M) 6-2, 6-4.

Boys No. 1 doubles: Shelton Mangum/Jase Grant (M) def. Devin Wallace/Skyler Rasberry (W) 6-1, 6-2.

Girls No. 1 doubles: T’iara Warnsley/Kimberly Crotwell (M) def. Mary Beth Munn/Amber Brinson (W) 6-2, 4-6, (10-4).

Boys No. 2 doubles: Ray Drane/Reid Crow (W) def. Kirkland Weeks/Alex Sumerall (M) 6-2, 6-0.

Girls No. 2 doubles: Morgan Wesley/Shaylin Green (W) def. Macie Frith/Cassidy Derrick (M) 0-6, 6-4, (10-8).
