Elliot named Republican of the Year

Longtime Brookhaven businessman and Republican supporter James W. Elliott Jr. was named “Republican of the Year” at a recent event hosted at the home of Stan and Cindy King and attended by numerous statewide and local officials.  Elliott was recognized for his faithful support of the party and contributions to Brookhaven and Lincoln County.

Congressman Greg Harper, Secretary of State Delbert Hoseman, Insurance Commissioner Mike Chaney, Agriculture Commissioner Cindy Hyde-Smith, Sen. Sally Doty, and Rep. Becky Currie and Vince Mangold were on hand to offer their congratulations to Elliott.

Lincoln County Republican Party Chair John Roberts attributed the local party’s recent success in elections to the dedication of early supporters of the Republican Party.

“We have made great strides in Lincoln County that can be traced directly back to Jim,” said Roberts.

State Chairman Joe Noseff thanked Elliott for his commitment saying, “I always enjoy visiting Brookhaven, especially to recognize people such as Jim Elliott who have been mainstays of the Republican Party for so many years.”

Elliott enjoyed the event with his wife Charlene, along with his daughters Amanda Elliott Warren and Meg Nordberg Warren and their families.
