Funeral services for Etta Faye Newsom Hibbard are Friday, May 6, 2016, at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) at 1 p.m. with burial at 2:30 p.m. in Wanilla Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello. Bro. Andy Fullington is officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation is Friday, May 6, 2016, at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Mrs. Hibbard, 91, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Golden Living (Brook Manor) nursing home in Brookhaven. She was born on Aug. 25, 1924, in Lawrence County to Samuel Newsom and Minnie Keene Newsom. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama. She also worked for K-Mart for many years in Birmingham. She was a member of Eastern Star No. 559 in Florence, Kentucky, for 60 years.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, James Edward Hibbard; two sons, James Mitchell Hibbard and Wayne Edward Hibbard; six sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors are her grandsons, Evan and Aron Hibbard of Birmingham; and numerous nieces and nephews.
