BOGUE CHITTO – The Bogue Chitto Lady Cats advanced to the Class 1A South State Championship after beating the Nanih Waiya Lady Warriors 9-1 Wednesday night in a playoff series.

“This was a big series win for us,” said BC coach Scott Leggett. “Nanih Waiya has a good team and they always play us tough. Offensively, we managed to pull away in the fifth inning to secure the win. Christian Black did a good job in the circle for us and our defense played great behind her.”

The Lady Cats (23-6) will travel to Ethel Friday night to take on the Lady Tigers in the first game, starting at 6:30 p.m. The second game and third game, if needed, will return to Bogue Chitto Monday for a 4 p.m. start.
