Dumpster Days deemed success

The Dumpster Days portion of the Great American Cleanup just finished in Lincoln County. A summary of the collection at the five locations indicated that the community made a real effort to cleanup all around the county.

This year we collected a total of 350 tons of trash compared to 250 tons in 2015. Nearly 30 tons of this consisted of white goods, such as old stoves, freezers and similar items that can be recycled. There were 5,493 tires collected that can be recycled, compared to 3,729 tires last year.

The dumpsters were filled with old TVs, mattresses and left over debris from DIY home construction projects. Thanks to everyone for taking the time to properly discard these items and their efforts in keeping areas around the dumpsters clear for others. Please continue to support the efforts of a litter free community.
