BC softball, basketball girls honored

Bogue Chitto recently honored its Lady Bobcats with a banquet to commemorate the slowpitch softball, basketball and fastpitch softball teams.

In basketball, coach Christi Terrell recognized Zariah Matthews as the team’s Most Valuable Player, The Daily Leader’s All-Area Most Valuable Player, All-Lincoln County Most Valuable Player and All-District Most Valuable Player. Shakiriana Jefferson was selected as the Best Offensive Player, Taneshia May took home the Best Defensive Player honors and Christian Black earned the Best Rebounder Award.

Softball coach Scott Leggett recognized his Lady Cats slowpitch and fastpitch softball teams.

In slowpitch, Christian Black received honors as she earned the Batting Title and The Daily Leader Slowpitch Most Valuable Player Awards. Codi Leggett captured Golden Glove Award and Brooke Myers secured the Pitchers Award. Zariah Matthews received The Daily Leader’s All-Area Defensive Most Valuable Player honors. Terrah Nelson secured the Silver Slugger Award.

In fastpitch softball, Zariah Matthews won the Batting Title Award. Codi Leggett earned the Silver Slugger and the Golden Glove honors. Christian Black took home the Pitching Award.
