Wesley Leroy ‘Dub’ Nations

Funeral services for Wesley Leroy ‘Dub’ Nations of Sontag are Friday, May 27, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Fair River Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. 

Visitation is Thursday, May 26, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Fair River Baptist Church. He will lie in state on Friday, May 27, 2016, from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church.

Mr. Nations, 81, died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at Lawrence County Hospital. He was born Feb. 12, 1935 at his home in Fair Oak Springs.

Mr. Nations was a member of Fair River Baptist Church, where he served as a song director, deacon and on the grounds crew. He was retired as supervisor from Armstrong Fidelity Tire. His loves in life were his Savior, his family, his church and his garden.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Luther Leroy Nations and Lema McGraw Nations; sister, Bettye Butler; brothers, Dwitt Nations and Bobby Nations; and great-grandson, James Wesley Waycaster Jr.

Survivors are his wife of more than 62 years, Johnnye Foster Nations; daughters, Deborah Boone and husband, Jack and Kathy Waycaster and husband, Jimmy; brother, Ken Nations and wife, Brenda; sister, Elaine Johnson and husband, Joe; five grandchildren, Wesley Waycaster and wife, LeWaire, Jeffrey Waycaster and wife, Mary Camille, Suzi Zeman, Miranda Lee and husband, Jake and Lori Ross and husband, Alan; and 10 great-grandchildren, Matti Hamlin Waycaster, Russ Waycaster, Sam Nations Waycaster, Nathan Bassett, Alyssa Bassett, Matthew Lee, Hannah Lee, Joshua Lee, Elijah Lee and Jeremiah Lee.

Memorials may be made to Fair River Baptist Church.
