Funeral services for Joe Robert Norton Jr. are Sunday, May 29, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Pleasant Ridge United Pentecostal Church Cemetery.

Visitation is from 5 until 9 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Riverwood.

Mr. Norton Jr., 86, of Wesson, died May 27, 2016 at his residence. He was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Lincoln County. He was a retired self-employed truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Robert Norton Sr. and Mary Ollie Falvey Norton; grandson, Clay Norton; daughter-in-law, Jena Lynn Norton; brothers, Carlos Norton, Charles Norton, James Norton; and sisters, Marie Moore, Margie Leonard, Josie Moak, Bonnie Leach and Carolyn Millwood.

Survivors are his wife, Emma J. Norton; sons, John Alvin Norton and wife, Kim, of Florence and Joe Robert Norton III and wife, Cathy Lynn, of Brookhaven; daughters, Jo Ann King and husband, Neal, of Wesson, Linda Jean Smith and husband, Tony, of Florence, Mary Esther Chance and husband, Wayne, of Sontag and Kathy Diane Smith and husband, Craig, of Wesson; brother, Jack Louis Norton; sisters, Geneva Plunkett, Charlotte Loper, and Cleo Watkins; 11 grandchildren, Lori Brown, Sarah Adams, David Lynn Case, Darren Dunn, Justin Dunn, Joey Norton, Sonny Norton, Michelle Lofton, Dennis Smith Jr., Evan Smith and Mollie Smith; and 16 great-grandchildren.
