Funeral Services for Wadie D. Townsend are Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial in Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Garland Boyd will officiate.

Visitation is Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Mr. Townsend, 84, died Friday, June 17, 2016, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on Aug., 9, 1931 in the Enterprise Community to William Wadie Townsend and Lillie Mercier Stevens.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He retired after 40 years as a foreman at Jacobsen Lawnmower Plant in Brookhaven. Townsend and his wife, the former Magaline Allen, married on April 20, 1957.

Preceding him in death are his parents; his Uncle Cecil Townsend and Aunt Maggie Townsend.

Surviving him are his wife; his son, Dwayne Townsend and wife Cindy; daughter, Dianne Altman and husband Steve; granddaughter, Allie Claire Townsend; grandsons, Kyle, Kelly and Kory Altman; three great grandchildren; special friends, Geraldine Morris and Holly Shannon; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
