Funeral services for Huey P. Hart are Friday, June 24, 2016, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Wesson at 1 p.m. with burial in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. Jerry Sullivan will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today, from 5 until 8 p.m. and Friday, June 24, 2016, from 12 p.m. until the time of services at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mr. Hart, 79, died Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at his residence. He was born Sept. 14, 1936, in Bogue Chitto to Alton and Edith Cannon Hart.

He enjoyed gardening and working with his cattle. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Belinda Kay Hart; brothers, Wendell Hart and Lloyd Hart; and niece, Regina Hart.

Survivors are his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Smith Hart; sons, Stephon Hart and Doyle Hart, both of Brookhaven; grandchildren, Alton Hart, Dustin Hart and Maranda Hart; brother, Roger Hart and wife, Wanzie, of Bogue Chitto; sisters, Syble Lang and husband, Roger, of McComb, Christine Smith of Plano, Texas, Janis Landress of Flowood and Francis Davis of Madison; sister-in-law, Hoytense Ricks and husband, Bill, of Brookhaven; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
