A single car accident on I-55 left one in critical condition Monday morning.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to an accident at 7:08 a.m. Monday on I-55 south at mile marker 33.

A Mazda passenger car driven by Flynn A. Sims, 66, of Woodville ran off the shoulder of the road and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll over, Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop M Spokesman Cpl. Brandon Fortenberry said.

Sims was ejected from the vehicle, Fortenberry said. He was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson with critical injuries.
