Funeral Services for Guy Arthur “Jack” Parsons, of Silver Spring, Maryland and formerly of Brookhaven, are Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park.

Visitation is Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service.

Mr. Parsons, 87, died July 27, 2016, in Silver Spring, Maryland.

He was born on July 15, 1929, to Guy Griswold Parsons and Myrtle Grenn Parsons.

Parsons served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was very active in the Brookhaven Community. He served as a member of the Lions Club, Methodist Men, American Legion and Sons of the American Revolution.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife of 46 years, Sarah Smith Parsons, and second wife Grethen O. Parsons.

Survivors are son, Arthur Rost Parsons and wife Tonya Ann; grandchildren, David Rost Parsons and Margaret Sarah Parsons; and many extended family members.
