Funeral services for Perlean Rhodes Bennett, of Bogue Chitto, are Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016, at 11 a.m. at North Pleasant Hill M.B. Church in New Hebron with burial in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven. Rev. Moses Johnson will officiate. Tyler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bennett, 68, died Friday, Aug. 5, at her residence. She was born Aug. 24, 1947, in Simpson County, to Willie Rhodes and Everlena Young Rhodes, of New Hebron.

Mrs. Bennett was employed at Kellwood Manufacturing in Monticello for a number of years.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors are her husband, Charles Bennett, of Bogue Chitto; sons, Charles G. Rhodes, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Christophus J. Rhodes (Patricia), of Prentiss, and Shannon L. Rhodes (Rebecca), of Brookhaven; daughter, Jamila C. Rawls (Henry Jr.), of Brookhaven; stepdaughters, Brenda, Patricia and Mary; stepsons, Bruce and Charles Jr.; brothers, Mirrett Rhodes, Michael Rhodes, Richard Rhodes and Evanglist Rhodes (Lartha); sisters, Edith McDuffey (Johnnie), Queen Pittman (Carl). Edell Feazell (Curtis), Evelyn McDuffey (James) and Debbie Rhodes (Howard); 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Holli Cameron; godson, Alexander Jasper; and a host of relatives and friends.
