Funeral services for Buell Roscoe “Rusty” Carty, of Wesson, are Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Beauregard United Methodist Church in Wesson with burial in Wesson Cemetery. Bro. Tom McCormick will officiate. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Buell Roscoe ‘Rusty’ Carty

Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) and will continue Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Carty, 66, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. He was born Oct. 22, 1949, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Buell Roscoe Jr. and Alyce Ray Carty.

He graduated from Co-Lin High School where he was active in various organizations. He graduated from Whitworth College in Brookhaven. He was a retired teacher from Bogue Chitto High School and a retired pastor from Mississippi United Methodist Church. He was a pastor at Beauregard United Methodist Church in Wesson and at New Hebron United Methodist Church in New Hebron. Mr. Carty was an active member of Beauregard United Methodist Church. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; grandparents, C.A. Sr. and Pearl Hennington Ray and Buell Roscoe Sr. and Hazel Carty; brother, Phillip Ray Carty; and an infant brother.

Survivors are his wife of 45 years, Billie Remington Carty, of Wesson; daughter, Dr. Leslie Anne Carty, of Wesson; son, Troy Edward “Eddie” Carty, of Brandon; brother, Joseph Staffler Carty and wife, Sherri, of Madison; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
