Memorial services for Bruce L. Ashley, of Bogue Chitto, are today, Feb. 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive). Bro. Matthew Gazaway will officiate.

Memorial gathering will be today, Feb. 26, 2017, at 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Ashley, 61, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center, McComb, with his loving family by his side. He was born April 20, 1955, in Muskegon, Michigan, to Bobby and Joyce Willett Ashley. He was a member of Arlington Baptist Church; worked many years as a police officer and correctional officer; and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Bryan Ashley.

Survivors are his wife of 42 years, Janie Ballard Ashley; daughter, Shana Ashley Sasser and husband Jonathan of Bogue Chitto; son, Brett Ashley and wife Jeannie of Bogue Chitto; brother, Bart Ashley and wife Tammy of Troy, Tennessee; grandchildren, Lauren Sasser, Joshua Sasser, Caleb Sasser, Anna Jo Sasser, Haleight Ashley and Jase Ashley; and a host of family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mr. Ashley’s name may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
