The Wesson Cobras hosted county opponent Loyd Star Tuesday night in non-conference baseball action, and the Hornets were able to hold Wesson scoreless and took the game 4-0.

Wesson could not bring Smith home, as Loyd Star was able to get out of the inning.

Loyd Star sophomore James Beard drew a walk to start the third inning. In an attempt to jumpstart their offense, Beard stole second base and later moved to third on a wild pitch. Loyd Star senior Konner Allen was able to bring Beard in with a single for the first run of the night. With one out and bases loaded, Loyd Star senior Braydyn Brister hit a deep sacrifice fly to bring in another run. The Cobras were able to end the inning, preventing the Hornets from adding to their lead at 3-0.

Konner Allen was the star of the game for Loyd Star, going 2-for-4 from the plate with an RBI single in the third inning.
