Graveside services for Edward Earl Smith, of Brookhaven, will be today, March 12, 2017, at 3 p.m. at New Sight Cemetery. Riverwood Family Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today, March 12, 2017, from 1 p.m. at New Sight Baptist Church until time of services at the cemetery.

Mr. Smith, 92, died Friday, March 10, 2017. He was born June 24, 1924, to Robert and Bertha Smith.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II (1941-1946) as a submariner. He was also a member of Wahabi Oriental Band, a Mason, past Potentate of Wahabi Temple and member of New Sight Baptist Church. He also owned Smith Furniture in Brookhaven.

Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Robert L. Smith.

Survivors are his wife, Louise Y. Smith; son, Thomas E. Smith and wife Cynthia; brother, Howard Lee Smith; grandchildren, Josh Smith and wife Tammy, and Derek Smith; and great-grandson, Hayden Smith.
