Below are the most current reports on  fishing conditions of lakes in the area. Information courtesy of the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks.

Lake Lincoln State Park

Bass fishing should be picking up at Lincoln.  Fish should be moving shallow to spawn.  Soft plastics are the best bet.

Bream fishing is slow; worms on the bottom would be best.

The crappie are moving into shallow water to spawn. Anglers fishing at night are also having good luck.

No reports on catfish.  Worms or cutbait fished on the bottom are the baits of choice. Try the fish attractors around the island.

Lake Mary Crawford

Bass fishing is good.  A pair of anglers caught 57 and 26 recently.

There haven’t been many bream anglers out just yet, so not much to report there.

Crappie fishing is fair.  Lime colored jigs are working well currently.  Small minnows and jigs are your best bet.

No current reports on catfish.  Try cutbait, worms, or commercial catfish bait on the bottom.

Percy Quin State Park

Bass fishing is good on soft plastics in shallow water in the grass, and also around the willow trees.

Bream fishing is fair in about seven feet of water around the willows.  Worms and crickets are working the best.

No current reports on crappie; try fishing in 10 to 12 feet of water with minnow-tipped jigs.

The catfish bite is slow, but there are some big catfish in Lake Tangipahoa; a few in the 30-pound range have been caught over the last couple of months.  Fish on the bottom with your favorite catfish bait.
