Slather mustard and ketchup all over that giant corndog and get ready to whirl. It’s time for the 2017 Spring Fest and Fair at the Lincoln Civic Center.

Director Quinn Jordan is expecting everything to be bigger and better this year with Mitchell Brothers and Sons Amusements as the new food and ride provider. The fair starts Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. with $15 armbands available for unlimited rides.

Jordan said he’s prepared to feed over 10,000 people with Mitchell Brothers and K&B Seafood. Both vendors will selling food each night.

Mitchell Brothers’ Chad Stanley said they’re always prepared for a large crowd. He will have eight to 10 vendors delivering hot, fresh homemade food that’s already prepped before an order is placed.

“We have people out there as early as 8 and 9 a.m. prepping food for the evening [of the fair],” Stanley said.

Stanley said they will be providing their all-time fair food favorites — corn dogs, funnel cakes, fried Oreos, Italian sausages, chicken and shrimp on a sticks, candy apples, cotton candy, popcorn, burgers, and fries — for fairgoers.

“Everything is homemade. We even use our own Louisiana sugar for the cotton candy,” Stanley said. “We have a brand new trailer that will fix Icees, chocolate dip cheesecakes, banana splits and more sweet favorites.”

Classic rides like the Ferris wheel, star flyer and swings will be available for all ages.

Mitchell Brothers is also bringing their new ride — the Inversion 360. This ride spins a total of 12 people per cycle in a complete 360-degree loop while the seats rotate around the center.

“We’ll have about 20 to 25 rides available every night,” Stanley said.

The Spring Fest and Fair will continue Thursday from 4:30-10:00 p.m. with $20 armbands, Friday from 4:30-10:30 p.m. with $25 armbands, Saturday 4-10:30 p.m. with $25 armbands and Sunday from 1-8 p.m. with $15 armbands. For more information, visit lincolnciviccenter.com.
